Episode 6: Writing Women Respectfully Part 2

Writing women respectfully

Can you think of a time when you were watching a movie and a comment was made about a female character and you thought to yourself, “Why would they say that when they would never say that about a male character?” As writers, we want to make sure that we avoid writing in a way that makes our readers question this.

Today, we are talking about more ways you can write your female characters in a respectful way. I dive into two types of inconsistencies that can weaken female characters, examples of inconsistencies in the movie, Cars, and alternative ways the writers could have made their point that would have shown much more respect for the strong female character. If you’re looking for a way to ensure you don’t fall into common cliches that weaken your writing, this is an episode you don’t want to miss!
